“The kingdoms of this world shall become the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ and He shall reign forever and ever – King of kings and Lord of lords”. ~The Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah.
Of whose kingdom do you belong? If you walk in a religious spirit, then you belong to a worldly kingdom and the Lord Christ is not your focus. Is the church your god? Are you so busy performing for Him – doing good things for your self-worth, that you do not walk in intimacy with Him? Do you need ministry to be legitimized? Are you constantly looking for a place to minister for your fulfillment, then you walk in a kingdom of this world. It is not what you do FOR Him that matters TO Him. It is who you are IN Him that leads you to walk in His Kingdom. If you know the Word of God but you do not intimately know the God of the Word, then you are walking in a kingdom of this world known as idolatry. If you love people, places or things more than you love God, then your kingdom is co-dependent love also known as idolatry. Have you put the Great Commission (go ye into all the world and be My witness) before the Great Commandment (you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength and your neighbor as yourself), then any witnessing you do will be less than He desires because it will be absent of the Father’s love and you will likely offend many of those you try to reach.
Does your world consist of chaos and clamoring rather than peace and rest, then it is a kingdom of this world that you embrace. Do you walk in fear, lack and want rather than trusting Him for all your provision? Perfect love casts out ALL fear and is a hallmark of His Kingdom. Do you carry offense, bitterness and resentment against another person or organization, then your kingdom is of this world and it will lead you to a spirit of unforgiveness. If you do not forgive then God cannot forgive you.
His Kingdom is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. If you walk in the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, then you will always march to a different drummer. You’ll confound and offend those around you whose kingdoms are of this world. They will not like you, some will hate you, and most will avoid you, but the Lord God will be your God and His Kingdom will be your Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven. And He shall reign forever and ever. Amen and amen.
