We here at PITFH are asking this same question: “What would God do if we gave Him the chance?” What would happen if all churches and ministries who have a heart to seek and respond to God, would become supple in the hands of our loving Father? It is a question that challenges us daily here at PITFH.
Recently Father challenged us with a question He asked us to ask Him often: “What does a Christian Retreat look like in the Kingdom of God?” As we prepare to receive the land He has promised and begin building His Kingdom Retreat, we need answers to this question. He often answers our questions with another question! We know what a lot of Christian Retreats look like in our world today, but He’s told us many times that this retreat He has given us vision for would not look like any other we have seen. So the question remains to be answered – What does a Christian Retreat look like in His Kingdom? We think we might all be surprised.

“One of the basic goals I had in mind when this whole thing started, early on in the Vineyard movement, was this: “What would God do if we gave Him the chance?” What if fear or self-interest didn’t restrict us? What if the need for control didn’t overwhelm us? What would God do? If our own ministries were not the most important issue, what would it be like? If “church” wasn’t all about us, our place and our ways, but instead was about Jesus and what He wanted to do here on earth, what would He reveal of His heart? What if it didn’t matter to us at all what was said about us – good or bad – and the only opinion that mattered was Jesus’? What would it be like?
What if we loved what Jesus love? What if we let God be God and we just be His people? What if self-protection was not the issue, and we didn’t care about looking foolish? What would God do?
Don’t you want to know? Don’t you want to find out? We only have these few short years to make these decisions of self-sacrifice and faith. Then the consummation of the ages will arrive, and it will be too late (see Revelation 22:11-12). I pray that the Vineyard – and all churches [and ministries] who have a heart to seek and respond to God – would become supple in the hands of our loving Father.”
