The following is a devotional from A Miracle a Day by Grant Fishbook.  It is a post from his friend Eric Célérier .

During His earthly ministry, Jesus did many extraordinary things. We often think of the many miracles He performed. But I also think about every gaze of compassion and love He had for those He encountered.

John, one of the Lord’s disciples and the author of the gospel bearing his name, ends his writings by saying this: “Jesus also did many other things. If they were all written down, I suppose the whole world could not contain the books that would be written.” (John 21:25, NLT)

And it’s true! Jesus accomplished an enormous amount of things during His time on Earth…and He continues to today! Thousands, or millions, of books testifying of Jesus’ love and work could be written. But there’s one special book that talks about Him: you, Gerri, the book that Jesus Himself is writing of your life!

  • On the cover of the book of your life is Jesus’ name, written in golden letters. He is the author of this book! Your photo is on the book as well.
  • Jesus takes the pen and writes the story of your life. He’s an incredible writer.
  • The pages are the corners of your heart; the ink is the ink of His love.

He passionately pours out His love upon the pages of your heart. He makes your life an open book, a letter, a testimony that time cannot erase. And so the invisible author of your life becomes visible to this world, through His work inside of you!

There is no greater author, no better writer, to pen the manuscript of your life. His desire is to write on the tablets of your heart. The main character of History became the author of your story. And He’s writing His story with your life. A story of a changed, transformed, healed, and freed life…

This is what Jesus especially desires to write in your heart today: “I love you with an everlasting love. I knew you, the days fashioned for you, when as yet there were none of them. I wanted your existence. And I consider your life to be My masterpiece, the poem that I write.”

Would you like to thank the Lord with me right now? “Lord, thank You for Your marvelous works in my life. I don’t want to forget Your benefits. I give up writing the pages of the book of my life myself and give You all of the author’s rights. I am infinitely grateful to You for being the author of my existence. I want to seal Your Word upon my heart. In Jesus’ powerful name, amen.”

I invite you to pour your love back, in turn, on the Lord by worshiping Him with the song “First Love” by Jonathan & Melissa Helser.

Thanks for existing, and you are a miracle!
