THE VISION

The Vision is going to be key in these last days.
It is a place where the sound of the Spirit is released…
a place of signs, wonders and healing…
a place of intentional outreach, discipleship and training…
a place of refuge being established right now – the epicenter of Father’s love and His supernatural power that will change and influence individuals, regions and nations of the world.

“Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring – …he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.” Romans 4:16a, 20 & 21

A Cop on The Beat

Gerri’s Journal – June 26, 2018

I sat recently at the corner of 17th and Main Street in Durango waiting for the signal light to change.  Suddenly I had a flash back of another time sitting at that same signal years ago.
An officer from the Durango Police Department rolled up in his cruiser, red lights flashing, jumped out in full uniform, over-rode the traffic signal and ordered the traffic to stop from all directions.
Wondering what was happening, I looked up to see a black hearse approaching the intersection with a long funeral procession following.  They turned at the intersection and headed toward the cemetery.  Nothing unusual about that I thought.  What was a profound site was the way that Police Officer snapped to attention and saluted the hearse and the family procession that followed.
I wept as I saw the intentional […]

Honor Your Father and Your Mother – J. Lee Grady

This article was taken from Charisma Magazine

Twenty months ago this week, my 88-year-old father was weeding in his backyard when he slipped off an embankment and fell four feet onto his concrete driveway. My mother found him a few minutes later. He was lying in a pool of blood. He had no idea he had sustained a brain injury that would sap his mobility, speech and most of his memories.

The next day, I drove the familiar eight hours from Florida to Georgia to sit by my dad’s hospital bed. It was painful to watch him struggle. I knew he’d never be the same. I called my wife, and we quickly decided to sell our house and move to my parent’s town to take care of Daddy.

We then began what I call the long goodbye. My father went from the […]

What To Do When Time Isn’t Healing Your Wounds by Kris Vallotton

Is it possible to walk through pain and come out the other side really okay? Yes. Is it easy? No. Is it worth it? Most definitely. Jesus said, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4). In other words, mourning is necessary; it’s the process that leads to wholeness. Yet many Christians are afraid of pain and believe their only responsibilities are to cheer people up. Consequently, hurting people push down their pain instead of confronting it. This leads to a life of unresolved agony. As children of God, we must learn how to walk away from pain (not hide it), so that we can become healthy and whole people who live joyful lives. So let’s take a look at some practical steps for walking away from pain.

  1. Forgive those who caused you pain.

Forgiveness […]

Explaining the Unexplainable – John Wimber

We are often asked here at PITFH to explain some of the stranger manifestations that occur in revival meetings.  We have approached this subject in other places, but recently while reading this book by the late John Wimber, we found the following explanation from his experiences in the early 1980’s when the Vineyard Movement experienced revival in their churches around the world.  Here is some of what John wrote on the subject:

Explaining the Unexplainable  from The Way In is the Way On by John Wimber, page 246

“I’m comfortable with the fact that people, under the excitement of a visitation from the Holy Spirit, do some far out things. Some things occur because of over zealousness, emotional disorder, or even the devil. But some also occur because of God. Most of us come to God with all that in place […]

What Would God Do? by John Wimber

We here at PITFH are asking this same question:  “What would God do if we gave Him the chance?”  What would happen if all churches and ministries who have a heart to seek and respond to God, would become supple in the hands of our loving Father?  It is a question that challenges us daily here at PITFH.
Recently Father challenged us with a question He asked us to ask Him often:  “What does a Christian Retreat look like in the Kingdom of God?”  As we prepare to receive the land He has promised and begin building His Kingdom Retreat, we need answers to this question.  He often answers our questions with another question! We know what a lot of Christian Retreats look like in our world today, but He’s told us many times that this retreat He has […]

Honoring John Loren Sandford – James Goll

We have had the honor and privilege of being mentored over the years by the late John and Paula Sandford.  Paula passed away a number of years ago and John just recently went home to be with the Lord.  They were pioneers in the Inner Healing Movement and were instrumental in helping us find our way into active prayer ministry.  Our personal encounters with them were always a blessing and their prophetic words spoken became defining moments for us both.  Here is a note from James Goll about John.  We bid him a fond farewell until we are all together again in Heaven.   Roger & Gerri

From the Desk of James Goll

John Loren Sandford graduated to his heavenly abode and reward early Friday morning, March 30th. I fondly referred to this gentle giant in the faith as my Uncle John. As a Forerunner, this […]

God’s Presence – Treasured or Not – by Roger

In my opinion, the ultimate privilege a person has in this life is the opportunity to experience and enjoy God’s presence. Sadly, many people reject this privilege and reject God Himself. Just as sadly many born again Christians do not fully enjoy being a Child of God. By what measure, to what degree, and what depth of relationship do find ourselves satisfied with our position in the family of God and park there. Many times religion is a deterrent to developing a personal, intimate, conversational relationship with Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We can also be side tracked by the performance required to support our religious preference. In fact, performing for God can be a deterrent to developing relationship with God and result in frustration, disappointment, and eventually burn out if not corrected. Gerri and I traveled this […]

Don’t Be Hard to Help by Gerri

The other day I was in a meeting with our Ranch Acquisition Team. This team is made up of a number of professional people…our banker, our CPA, our realtor, a member of our Intercessory Prayer Team , Roger and myself. The meeting was quite productive and we were encouraged to see the Team come together having caught the vision of the Ranch Retreat and desiring to see the vision of PITFH come to pass. At one point in the meeting I held up a stack of paperwork that had come across my desk and I shared with the group that I was feeling very overwhelmed with it all. Immediately something very profound was spoken that has landed squarely in my heart. “Don’t be hard to help.” It was then pointed out that around that table […]

8 Practical Ways To Keep Your Heart Soft Towards God in Hard Seasons by Kris Vallotton

Have you ever gone through a hard time that lasted more than just a day or a week? Maybe you’ve been in the middle of a battle for a whole season, or perhaps even years. I know that these times can suck the life out of you, and leave you feeling dry, discouraged and alone. It can even feel like there’s no way out. When tough times turn to a tough life it can be easy to become disillusioned and even cynical towards your life, towards the Church, or towards God’s goodness. It’s important to realize that this doesn’t have to be your story!

Tough Times Build Character

Let me tell you about a personal story of a hard time that turned into a hard season for my family. In the early 1980’s, Kathy and I owned one auto […]

I Give Up My Right by Roger

Recently we received a distressing email from a couple we dearly love. As Gerri and I were discussing the situation, out of my mouth came, “Until she gives up the right to be angry, bitter and unforgiving, nothing is going to change.” I instantly knew this was a Holy Spirit thing and I knew that it was for me. I also knew the very situation it applied to in my own life. Although challenging and without feelings coming first, I asked Gerri to agree with me as I chose to give up my right to be angry, bitter and unforgiving towards two people who have continuously hurt Gerri.

As we prayed the love and forgiveness of Father (His nature) began to break and replace my anger, bitterness and unforgiveness (satan’s nature) and once again I’ve been rescued from myself by the intervention […]

Places In The Father’s Heart – November 2010

Back in November 2010, we saw a copy of this article by David Crone.  We were so impressed by it, we asked for permission to republish it here.  These are some of the decisions that define THE MISSION in Vacaville, CA.  We pray that they will define PITFH as well.  Roger and Gerri

“We’ve made and listed below some decisions that reflect the state of our hearts and the reality we’re establishing in our community. We believe these decisions are prompted by the Holy Spirit, and we are so happy to see them applied in the Kingdom. As you read, we want to make sure you understand the context. These decisions are in no way a criticism of any church […]

One Way Relationships by Roger

I know this may seem like old news coming from us, but hang in there for a minute! This is one way relationships with a new twist!

Have you ever tried to love someone who didn’t love you back? How many of us have ridden or are currently riding this emotional roller coaster and tragedy? The ups and downs can take your breath away! Hopes shattered, disappointment, frustration, fear, low self-esteem, self-hatred, a what’s wrong with me attitude, lies and deception, confusion and depression; this is satan’s playground and he loves to play when the opportunity is presented.

Sadly, this destructive scenario of one way relationships is quite common in the human family. Gerri and I first encountered this subject many years ago through our mentor, Al Ells. His book entitled, One Way Relationships – When You Love Them More […]

How To Know When To Trust Someone Again – Al Ells

How To Know When To Trust Someone Again by Alfred H. Ells Leaders That Last Ministries

“Richard had sex with my girlfriend,” the young leader lamented. His girlfriend was one of the singles leaders and Richard was head of the ministry.

One of the most devastating trials a family or church may face is moral failure. When Biblical norms are violated through adultery, pornography and other moral infractions, the repercussions can be severe and long-lasting. Obviously, such transgressions require major repentance, healing and change.

But what do you do when the transgressor wants to be trusted again? […]

Standing For Healing Breakthrough – Laura Hokanson

STANDING FOR HEALING BREAKTHROUGH

A Testimony of Healing from Chronic Pain

I have been a Christian for over 29 years and during the first three years of my walk with Christ, the Lord healed me from various medical conditions. As a new believer I learned the healing power of God firsthand. There was one condition, however, that was not healed during this miraculous time in my life.

Thirty years ago I was in a horse accident that injured my neck, back and right ankle. I was only 14 years old and staying with my Aunt. The horse I was riding the day before this accident did not like steep hills and threw me over her head on onto a rocky slope. I got back up and rode back to my Aunt’s home. How many of you know of […]

When Biblical norms are violated through adultery, pornography and other moral infractions, the repercussions can be severe and long-lasting. Obviously, such transgressions require major repentance, healing and change.

But what do you do when the transgressor wants to be trusted again? What criteria should be used to determine if trust is warranted for a failed pastor or spouse? The first thing to realize is that the sin at hand did not develop overnight, but most likely built up over time. Therefore, it will take time—weeks, months, maybe years—to undo. The fallen leader, spouse or family member will need ample amounts of […]

The Missing Commandment LOVE YOURSELF – expanded edition by Jerry & Denise Basel

We have known Jerry and Denise Basel for several years and enjoyed the first edition of their book, The Missing Commandment LOVE YOURSELF. Now we are pleased to let you know that the second and expanded edition is  available for you to enjoy. You can order it here.

Here’s an excerpt for your pleasure:

Servanthood to Sonship

Many of us Christians live in a master-servant relationship with God, a ‘just tell me what to do and I’ll do it’ relationship.

You might think, “That’s what I want – for God to just tell me what to do.” But would that work for you with your spouse or best friend? Not many warm fuzzies in that kind of relationship, are there?

If God is your Father and you are His child, how much more rewarding and meaningful would a relationship be in which He invited […]

Are Your Angels in Counseling?

In 2013 when we returned from 8 years in ministry in South Carolina, Father said, “I want you hidden in plain sight.”  It took some time to understand just what He meant by that directive.  We soon were to find out.  Basically we were back in Colorado but hidden in the pit just as Joseph was hidden in his pit.
When God gives a prophecy, there is always the time from ‘the pit to the palace’ where preparation takes place to equip us for the fulfillment of the word that has been spoken over us.  During this time we will experience rejection, betrayal, accusation, intimidation, and more.  This is God’s pruning time.  In the midst of this time, we will often experience the testing’s of the Lord.  Good thing about His testing’s is that we never fail His tests, we just get to […]

Ranch Update

On October 3, 2017 the ranch was listed for sale.  On October 6th Gerri and Linda, a member of our Intercessory Prayer Team went to the ranch perimeter  to pray, saw the for sale sign and Father said, “It is time for you to get on the property and pray.”  We followed through on that instruction, but immediately hit a wall of confusion and chaos among the owners, the investors and the bankruptcy court.  82 days later on December 27, 2017, we were granted permission to do a sales tour of the ranch.  The Acquisition Team that accompanied us was our realtor and long time personal friend, our intercessor Linda and our CPA and financial advisor.  We met with the listing agent and the security guard who gave us access to the land.
To try and explain to you the […]

ADD – Affection Deficit Disorder by Roger

No, I am not confused. I know that we typically identify ADD as Attention Deficit Disorder; usually describing children and adults who have difficulty staying focused on a given task. They usually lose concentration and move on to something else, making completion of a task difficult. These people struggle their entire lives to compensate for this affliction. Since I am not familiar with the secular treatment for this condition, I cannot speak to that. I do believe that this disorder, like so many others, has a spiritual root and for complete resolution, must be dealt with in the Spirit.

Yesterday, while driving on the Interstate returning from our Thanksgiving trip to Alabama, the thought ADD popped into my head from nowhere. I thought where did that come from? I’ve never had that problem. Then the revelation hit me. Although I’ve […]

My Encounter With Hard Core Porn by Gerri

The other day I had a brief, but very traumatic encounter with hard core porn on my new smart phone.  What happened after the event is what I want to share with you here.  There are some big lessons to be learned.
Over the years of our counseling and mentoring, we have dealt with many who are addicted to pornography and other sexual sin. We have been successful in some cases while in others we have not been able to see a breakthrough.  I remember well the day we were sitting in Al Ells’ office in Mesa, AZ.  He is Founder and Director of Leaders That Last Ministries.  We were chatting about what a difficult area this is to overcome even for Christians.  Let’s be clear.  It is rampant in the world around us and it is also widespread within […]

We have added an entire Addendum to the Prayer Ministry eBook which covers in detail Bitter Root Judgments, Vows and Death Wishes.  This material was written by John and Paula Sandford and the late Jack Frost.  It contains materials that we have had the privilege of studying for years.  We felt strongly that it should be included in the materials of the Prayer Ministry eBook.

And finally, we are really pleased  to add an audio recording of Prayers for Healing Trauma Wounds [click here and scroll down] done by Jim and Pat Banks of Healing House Ministries.  This 22 minute soaking audio carries a powerful anointing of the Holy Spirit which will allow the listener to be freed from unconscious trauma wounds.  It makes a great addition to the Prayer Ministry eBook.  We highly […]
