Wayne and Barbara Day are true friends of ours and of Places In The Father’s Heart. Wayne and “B” were some of the very first who recognized the call of God upon our lives and acted to help us get the ministry organized and our non-profit status secured. Wayne served as ministry Vice President for 20 years. They have remained faithful partners with us since 1982 and we likely would not be where we are today without them in our lives.
On Wednesday, October 11th, we received a phone call from “B” that their youngest son, Kirk, had suffered a major heart attack and passed into Glory. He was 46 years old. Kirk was a 1993 graduate from West Point and served as a Captain nine years in the U. S. Army. Upon leaving his military service, he returned to Centre, AL and subsequently was appointed by the Governor to serve out the unexpired term of the probate judge of Cherokee County. He was elected to this office in 2012 and served as probate judge and chairman of the Cherokee County Commission until the time of his death. Kirk based his public service on West Point’s values of “Duty, Honor, and Country.” This young man will be sorely missed.
Our hearts and prayers are with Wayne and “B”. They have so faithfully upheld the ministry and we share in their pain. If PITFH has been a blessing in any way to you, would you take just a moment and remember the Day family in your prayers?
“Father we thank you for allowing us the honor of knowing Kirk and his parents. Would you pour out your grace upon them and wrap them in Your arms of love. We bless them now in Jesus Name. Amen”
