Anytime I picture what courage looks like I think of soldiers, public servants and superheroes. But one thing I know for sure is that courage isn’t contained to a profession or a personality type. Courage comes from knowing that the God of the universe is for us and in us! Whether you’re a teacher, a stay-at-home mom, a photographer or a businessman, you are one of God’s champions! And as his winners, we weren’t called to sit around the palace sipping suds and polishing our armor. We have been left behind to transform the world.
Today I want to encourage you with a thought for the week—what would your week look like if you faced every circumstance that comes your way with outrageous courage? Check out this video to hear an inspiring testimony about bravery:

When Jesus said He was finished, He didn’t say you were! In fact, when Paul spoke of his apostolic credentials, he unleashed a list of beatings that would have scared Arnold Schwarzenegger. The very man who taught us about great grace was entrenched in a battle that scarred his body and troubled his soul. Yet some believers are convinced that life in the Kingdom is like tiptoeing through the tulips. They think they will win the nations through some pool party or beauty pageant.

Don’t Shrink Back

But women and men of radical faith and outrageous courage are forged in the fire of circumstances! They don’t shrink back when things get hard; instead, they press in and increase their intensity. When they see the naïve stumbling through darkness, they rise with wisdom to rescue helpless souls. What could happen if normal people, yourself included, got filled with God’s Spirit and became vessels for His power and courage? The world around us couldn’t help but be impacted.

So today I want to encourage you with this verse—Joshua 1:9 says, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” As you face this week I want you to hold onto this verse and breathe in the courage of heaven, let it soak into your spirit and let it rise within your heart! I bless you with a braveheart blessing to face fear with faith this week!
