We want to thank so many of you who have sent emails, cards and called during our long health battle. Here is the latest update: Roger had two cataract eye surgeries during the month of August. What was supposed to be two very simple procedures became complicated for a number of reasons. The eye surgeries themselves went very well and he only has a few more days of post op drops and it will all be over! The outcome has been amazing. He describes seeing in high-definition now!
After the first surgery as he was headed to the recovery room, his heart went out of rhythm and it shook all in charge – except the two of us! Father kept us in His perfect peace through it all! However, the doctors and attending nurses were not able to walk in that same peace. As a result, we were ordered to see a cardiologist for the heart problems before the eye surgeon and anesthestist would do the second eye!
We were blessed as we watched Father get us an appointment within just 3 days with a cardiologist that is also an internist. Perfect match! He spent a great deal of time talking with us both about the heart problem which has three causes – two physical problems and one spiritual root! The final conclusion in the doctor’s words was, “Roger, you have a very minor problem with the electrical impulses of your heart. Whatever you are doing with natural supplements keep doing because it is working. Please call me if the episodes with your heart last longer than 48 hours. It was a pleasure meeting you both.”
We are now 6 months out from the end of the detox for the black mold. We can confidently say now that we are 85-90% improved. We are VERY thankful to Father for leading us through this battle. It has been long and difficult, but we are slowly coming back and hopefully very soon we will be able to resume ministry. We are waiting on release now from Daddy!
On September 28th, 2012 He spoke the following to us from Small Straws in a Soft Wind by Marsha Burns:
“You have been in a transitional phase for some time, but I tell you now that today marks the end of an era and the beginning of a new one. You have had trials and tribulations, victories and defeat. You have learned great lessons through your circumstances that will serve you well. You’ve been shaken by change, dismayed at the results of poor decisions, and at times have felt at a loss for direction. It is time to leave the past behind and step into a new day in which I will pour out wisdom. I will direct your steps. I will strengthen you and give you new hope, says the Lord.”
How amazing the timing of this word. The day this word was given, we reached an end of our 48th year of marriage – an era to be sure! We celebrated as we entered year 49 – transitioning out of the previous era and into a new phase where we expect Him to strengthen us and give us new hope for a brighter, healthier future!
Once again, our sincere thanks to all of you who have prayed and stood with us during this difficult season of our lives.
We send you our love and blessing,
Roger and Gerri
